Messier Marathon

Come spring time, temperatures increase, days get longer (and nights shorter – bummer!), the Arizona desert blooms, and amateur astronomers emerge with their telescopes poised for action. Around the Vernal Equinox, it is possible to observe in one dusk-to-dawn marathon viewing session the entire 110 object list originally cataloged by French atronomer Charles Messier. The season of the Messier Marathon inspired me to embark on a new project … to image the entire original Messier catalog. No the images on this page were not collected in one night. They are not even from the same year.

The table below displays the Messier objects that I have imaged. Filling in the gaps will keep me busy for awhile.
